Silat is a type of martial art which originated from The Malays; namely the Southeast Asian coutries like Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and also Philippines. Silat consists of hundreds of fighting style and most of them imitate the movement of animals, for example, a tiger. Each fighting style portrays explosive and aggressive bursts of attacks.


Silat is not only about fighting but it also enables each individual to comprehend and acquire new dimensions in his mental and spiritual aspects of life. Besides that, the trainee could also learn a huge variety of fighting styles which includes self-defense and the cultural and artistic side of the Malay populace.


Currently Silat is gaining rising popularity in the Western World and it has proven its noteworthy stand in the World Silat Championship which is held once in every 2 years.
